On September 28, 2024, BIS was alive with colour, music, and dance for Asia Day, where students, staff, and parents rocked traditional outfits from various Asian countries. The day was filled with energetic dance performances and live music that celebrated the diverse cultures represented at our school. It created an unforgettable atmosphere, and everyone loved exploring the food stalls that offered a delicious array of Asian dishes.
The excitement continued with the AISB football tournament held on October 4th and 5th at UWIS, featuring teams from various international schools in Bishkek, including SRIS, QSI, and Oxford. The BIS Taigans participated energetically, showcasing their skills and sportsmanship.
Following the football tournament, BIS hosted the annual Central Asian cross-country tournament on October 11th and 12th, welcoming various international schools from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Over two days, runners competed with each other displaying remarkable determination and speed, dedication and resilience. The event highlighted the spirit of camaraderie and competitiveness within the CAFA community.
On October 18th, BIS celebrated UN Day, raising awareness of global issues and promoting sustainable development goals. The event included a speech from a representative of the International Organisation for Migration, educating students about their work. High schoolers also participated in an engaging quiz about the UN, with prizes for the top performers. The day concluded with a parade where students proudly showcased their national flags and traditional attire.
Not only, the student council elections took place this Semester. Where Ailin Razak, a student of 8th grade, became the middle school president and Aydana Yunusbaeva, a student of 11th grade, became the High School President. Furthermore, each grade chose their class representative, who are also members of the students council.
Through these celebrations and competitions, BIS continues to foster a strong sense of community, highlighting the importance of cultural diversity, athletic spirit, and global awareness!
