Valentine’s Day at BIS!

February 14th is a celebration of love and friendship, also known as Valentine’s Day!  This event is set to give and receive valentine cards, flowers, chocolates, and, more importantly, have fun!

At BIS, Valentine’s day was organised by the middle school student council who made different activities for the school to participate in related to the theme of Valentine’s. One of them included making colourful boxes for MYP, IGCSE, and DP students, so that anyone who wished to present someone a card could put it into the box for later distribution by the primary/middle school students. Many participated in this simple annual tradition and left valentines for their loved ones. In addition to valentine cards, people could also purchase roses for 250 som which were also delivered by the middle school students. These options were presented during both middle and high school assemblies by the middle school student council, as well as printed on posters and hung around the school.

Besides valentines and roses, many of BIS students dressed in either white, red, or pink to gain 10 house points for their strong valentine’s spirit. Moreover, all students and teachers received a heart-shaped cookie for the breakfast snack and the buildings were all decorated in pink hearts. After the lessons and ECA’s, middle school had a valentine-themed party with music and various fun activities. Students took photos which were then posted in the school newspaper “Voices” .

Thanks to the incredible preparation and active participation from every grade of BIS, Valentine’s Day included various fun activities and opportunities to spread affection!
