Friendly Competition and Skill Development at BIS Chess Tournament

On Sunday, March 12, the Bishkek International School hosted a chess tournament between 21 schools.

Bishkek International School (BIS) organized a thrilling chess tournament on Sunday, March 12, that drew 115 participants from 21 invited schools. The tournament was an opportunity for players to showcase their skills, compete for the top three positions, and earn amazing prizes provided by the BIS. The event was a grand success, with students from different schools participating and competing in a friendly environment.

The first, second, and third-place winners of the tournament received Madeleine cake, Daamduu, and Lili mo tea certificates, respectively. In addition to these, there were special awards given to individual players with the best results, who were awarded BIS caps. Every participant received certificates as recognition for their participation and effort.

Although BIS students did not take any of the top three positions, they were recognized and awarded for their exceptional performance with two Antikino certificates. The team with disabilities also received awards for three caps and BIS hoodies. The winning teams were School 61 in 1st place, School 13 in 2nd, and School 70 in 3rd place

Two students from BIS high school, Jijun and Cholponai, volunteered to help with the organization of the event. Ms. Aigul, one of the organizers, expressed her appreciation and gratitude for their incredible job.

The BIS chess tournament was a huge success, bringing together students from different schools to showcase their skills and compete in a competitive environment while also demonstrating the BIS’s commitment to encouraging students to participate in extracurricular activities that promote healthy competition, develop life skills, and provide opportunities to explore new interests. The tournament showcased the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork, and it was not just about winning but also about learning and improving one’s chess skills, developing new interests, and making new friends.
