BISA Football Tournament

By Ruslan Tsai, Grade 10 and Asek Willer, Grade 11

This past weekend, on October 4th and 5th the annual AISB football tournament was held at UWIS. All international schools of Bishkek: SRIS, QSI, UWIS, OXFORD, Hope Academy, and of course our BIS taigans were participating in the tournament.

The games were marked by a competitive spirit, particularly from the Taigans, who had several close matches and valuable learning experiences, with the U19 boys placing 7th giving it their all against tough teams.

The U15 boys fought hard in each of their games and left it all on the field; however, similar to the U19 boys, they did not manage to win any games and finished in 4th place. They are determined to learn from this experience and work harder in practice, aiming to come back stronger and more competitive next year!

The girl’s teams fought hard, both teams placing in the top 3! The U19 girls placed 3rd after a nail-biting game with Hope Academy to secure a medal. After a devastating loss in the finals against yet another HAB team, U15 Girls got 2nd place.

The tournament was filled with sportsmanship and every team showed respect to one another while still keeping ambitious spirits high! The tournament was a very successful tournament overall engaging people’s competitiveness. Encouraging people to be more social and sportsmanlike with people from other schools.

Next year Taigans will work even harder and showcase their upgraded skills in football!
