On September 30th, we saw BIS students competing at the Alga Sports Center for an eventful Sports Day filled with passion, rivalry, and friendship. The cool weather, combined with fresh air, created the perfect setting for this year’s sports day.
Parents contributed throughout the day, assisting with race organization, cheering on our participants, and ensuring everything went as planned. Due to Mr. Zeljko’s expert planning, each event started promptly, maintaining the excitement throughout the entire day.
The competition was intense, with students giving it their all on the field in order to earn house points for Snow Leopards, Piranhas, and Phoenixes. The house leaders did very well to motivate fellow students. House pride could be seen as students wore their respective house colors and cheered at the crossing of every finish line.
Races throughout the day witnessed some fantastic individual performances; Hisaki from MS girls, Kiharu from MS boys, Saikal from HS girls, and Jasper from HS boys all triumphed in their respective categories in the 800 m. Rimma MS girls, Matteo MS boys, Nina HS girls, and Abil HS boys demolished their competition in the 100 m sprint. Rimma MS girls, Nursultan MS boys, Saikal HS girls, and Jasper HS boys took the 400 m. The 60 m dash also showed great speed by Zahra and Chess in the PS age groups.
Delicious food provided by the school’s chefs kept everyone energized and excited for the races. People kept high energy throughout the day, which made the event all the more fun. We hope everyone enjoyed and is preparing for next year!
