On the 10th and 11th of October, our school hosted the annual Central Asia Federation of Athletes (CAFA) Cross Country tournament at the Karagach Park. The event brought together seven schools from Bishkek, Almaty, Astana, Dushanbe, and Tashkent for two days of exciting races and team spirit. On the first day, our students, coaches, and volunteers arrived early in the morning, joining the opening ceremony and a course walk-through before diving into a full schedule of relay and individual races. BIS athletes gave their all in the U15 and U19 categories, running 4km relays in teams of four, and showing incredible teamwork and resilience throughout the day.
The second day’s events focused on individual distances, including a 3km run for participants under 15 and a 5km run for those under 19. Despite the uneven ground, our students competed with heart and focus, earning several well-deserved podium finishes. BIS brought home multiple medals across different age groups, reflecting the dedication of our runners and the support of our coaching staff. The medal ceremony highlighted not only athletic achievement but also camaraderie and sportsmanship shared among all participating schools.
The event concluded with a joyful closing dinner at Pishpek restaurant, where students and staff from all participating schools gathered to celebrate. The event features fun activities like dancing, a lively Kahoot game, and plenty of laughter, creating a memorable and festive end to the weekend. Congratulations to our Taigans for their incredible performance, positive attitude, and for proudly representing our school on and off the course!
